What the Dictionary does
The Dictionary holds custom spellings for words and names you use often. Add them in Settings → Dictionary. TypeNext uses these entries as hints to both voice transcription and the typing-suggestion model, so your preferred spelling appears automatically.
How it works with voice
When you dictate, the Dictionary hints the transcription system toward your custom spellings. If you dictate and Apple's on-device speech engine still gets it wrong, TypeNext's cleanup pass applies your Dictionary spellings as a final correction — so your text comes out as you entered it, regardless.
How it works with typing
When you type, the suggestion model sees your Dictionary entries and prioritizes them when suggesting the next word or phrase. This keeps branded names, technical terms, and personal names spelled consistently without you having to type them out in full each time.
Global, not per-app
Your Dictionary applies everywhere you use TypeNext. There's no per-app override — the same spellings work across all applications.
Your custom spellings also help the suggestion model understand context better. If a term is in your Dictionary, suggestions that follow it will be more on-brand and accurate to your style.
